Fresh and Relaxed Makeup at Post Wedding Activities

For many couples, the wedding is not over once the reception is. Depending on the location of the wedding and the couple’s relationship with their families, often there are other activities that follow the main event. If this is the case for your special day, you will want to make sure your makeup looks great for you to spend the morning with well wishers. Keep in mind that for this day your makeup should be less dramatic and more relaxed.  You should still go for a beautiful look, and feel free to be daring with a bit of color.

bridal-makeup-brunch-post-weddingOne of the most common events is a breakfast the day following the wedding. This is a time for everyone to touch base with each other, check in on how everyone did and perhaps share memories of the night before. This breakfast activity can be as simple or elaborate as you like, but just remember that there will be memorable pictures involved. Be sure to put your best bridal makeup face forward!

Some families like to have the bride and groom open presents the day after the wedding. There are many who believe the bride and groom are required to open presents in the presence of family for good luck. Remember, opening gifts doesn’t have to a dry activity. You can add some silly fun or incorporate a game. How about starting with the smallest and moving to the largest gifts? Or working in the reverse order? You might even create a game. Everyone has to guess what’s in each gift prior to its being opened. (Of course, people can’t guess on their on gifts.) Someone can be in charge of keeping a tally and whoever gets the most right, wins a small prize.

The women in the bride’s family might want to help her pack up her gown (or send it to the dry cleaners) and preserve her wedding bouquet. This can easily be done at home and the women (particularly those who are crafty) might want to get started on preserving the flowers as well.

In the crafty light, some brides might want to plan a scrapbook party for after the wedding. You won’t have photos back from the photographer, but you can scrapbook many other wedding events, such as pre-events like manicures, various showers and the candid photos take by wedding guests the night before. More than being focused on the photos, this activity gives the women a chance to reflect on the events of the wedding, laugh at all the fun times and journal to preserve memories. It will also help the bride feel as if she’s partly in control of all those photos before she leaves on her honeymoon and takes yet more photos. She will also get a chance to remember how beautiful she looked in her bridal makeup!

Today MyBridalBlush.com continues a five part series on getting a flawless foundation finish on your wedding day. We hope it helps you to look wonderful on your special day!

Long Lasting Bridal Makeup Foundation Tips

You may be wondering what to do when there is a lot on the wedding schedule, but not a lot of time to retouch your wedding day foundation. There are a few secrets that MyBridalBlush.com is going to share in order for you to keep your bridal makeup look fresh and lasting all day.

Blotting Papers – Traditionally called Rice Paper, these come in a number of formats today. They work by picking up oil from your skin without unsettling your makeup. Simply take the small sheet of paper and blot at any oily spots on your skin. Our favorites are the oil absorbing sheets made of propylene, Clean & Clear brand has a great version of this propylene sheet.

Foundation Primer – Many hardcore makeup fashionistas swear by primer, and for good reason. It smooths out fine lines, fills in pores, and makes for an even canvas for your makeup to go on. It also reduces shine and gives a matte effect to the skin, which is very useful for brides with oily skin types. The ingredients in primer help to make your makeup last longer, which means fewer retouches throughout your day. Use primer before applying your concealer or foundation. We love Smashbox Photo Finish as it comes in a variety of formulations and even has color correcting tint.

Setting Spray – There are products that will set your makeup to your face like hairspray sets your style to your hair! Amazing and groundbreaking, right?! Actually these products have been out for a while and the red carpet makeup artists love them.  Once you have finished your entire makeup look, take the makeup setting spray and mist your entire face. Allow it to dry, and your bridal makeup look is set for the day until you decide to wash it off. Popular brands include Model in a Bottle and Invisible Finish.

Translucent Powder – When initially using the powder, you will want to use a light hand and a puff. You will want to use a powder if you need to set a liquid or creamy consistency foundation. Only powder the places that require it on your face, you do not want to create a powder mask, as it will reflect poorly in photographs. When powdering for touch ups, remember to only blot - don’t rub. Rubbing will upset the rest of your makeup and you may end the day with blush on your chin instead of your cheeks!

How to get acne under control to look the best in your bridal makeup

Guthy Renker Corporation

Acne is defined as a diseased condition of the skin that involves the hair and oil glands. It is characterized by pimples, black/white heads, reddishness and cysts. Face acne can spoil your appearance to a great extent and body acne can really ruin you from looking your best in your gown. Considering acne as a minor problem, some people tend to totally discard the topic when it comes to wearing makeup. However, the more flawless actual skin is, the more beautiful your wedding day makeup will look.

Acne skin care should really start much before the acne actually appears. Acne skin care is more about being proactive than reactive, it is about being aware of preventive measures. Cleansing is the most important part of any acne skin care routine.

Beautiful bridal makeup starts with beautiful skin

Acne skin care starts with the most basic thing – cleanliness. Morning showers are the most basic way of keeping the skin clean. In fact, a lot of people take night showers too, and if you are living in a hot and/or humid place, a night shower becomes a must. In fact, a shower is recommended after any activity that causes high levels of sweat to develop. Take this as a must for all of the ladies who work out vigorously to look their best in their bridal and bridesmaids gowns.

However, acne skin care is not about just showers. Having flawless wedding day makeup requires that you do numerous things for the months leading up to the wedding. Make sure you get a great skin care treatment program. ProActiv is one of the best on the market! Make sure you always wear clean clothes and sleeping on clean pillows. A surefire way to keep your pillows clean is to never sleep in your makeup, ever! Moreover, too tight clothes can cause sweat to accumulate quickly; so soft and comfortable cotton clothes are recommended if your skin is ultra sensitive. Also be sure to clean any of your make-up brushes and any equipment that you use on your body. That includes replacing the plastic loofahs and body brushes.

The next thing to do is make sure your everyday look is non-irritating and flawless. Try mineral makeup so that looking great does not irritate your inflamed skin. Check out mineral makeup options on the banner below and look your best every day.

The correct foundation will enhance your beauty and bridal makeup

There are many different types of foundation on the market, with hundreds of brands and types. With all of the options, how is one to know how to select the right makeup for their special day? Choosing the right wedding day foundation is very important, as your face will be in the limelight for most of the day. In most cases there is a professional photographer around, and many other people will be snapping impromptu photos that will be shared across the internet and through the years. A bride and her attendants will want to make sure they are looking their very best in their wedding day makeup. Here are a few pointers on how to go about selecting the right look.

Make your bridal makeup look flawless with the right wedding day foundation choice

Liquid – liquid will provide a medium coverage and works well with all skin types. Be sure to stay away from formulations that have reflecting properties or with a dewy finish for your special day, as it does not translate well into photos.

Airbrush – Taking liquid a step further, some brides are opting for airbrush makeup. This increasingly popular service is provided by makeup artists, and brides swear by airbrush makeup’s lasting power and ability to look flawless in photos and in person.

Cream to Powder – Will provide you with medium coverage and is best used on oily skin types. Use a sponge to apply, and watch this glide onto your skin and transform to a velvety smooth natural matte finish.

Powder – If you use powder every day and are most comfortable with it, then stick with it for your wedding day foundation. Just be sure to realize that powder has a light to medium coverage. While it will absorb oil and leave you with a matte finish, you will want to make sure it is a perfect match to your skin color.

Mineral – If you have sensitive or acne prone skin, try this natural option. There are many more color options available now and this will give your skin a medium coverage polish.

Tinted Moisturizer – This is the most lightweight of all foundations, providing very little coverage. It is best left for everyday casual use, steer clear of this for your wedding day makeup look.
